CARDBOARD & PLASTIC RECYCLE

As part of this commitment, our cardboard and plastic recycling is managed weekly through JJ’s Waste and Recycling service, helping ensure that recyclable materials are collected efficiently and diverted away from landfill wherever possible. BATTERY RECYCLE DROP POINT
At our main entrance, we provide a convenient battery recycling drop-off point for flat batteries from a range of everyday household and personal devices. This simple, accessible service makes it easy for customers to dispose of used batteries responsibly while they are already visiting the store, helping to ensure these items are collected in a way that supports safe handling and proper recycling. By making battery disposal more convenient, we hope to encourage more people to take part in environmentally responsible habits and reduce the risk of harmful materials ending up in landfill or being discarded incorrectly.

The retail undercover area of Hume & Iser is fitted with LED light fixings to provide better light output while using less power. E-WASTE RECYCLING
Hume & Iser’s e-waste is collected annually and transported to Eaglehawk Landfill for proper and safe disposal. This process helps ensure that electronic waste is handled responsibly, reducing the risk of harmful materials being discarded incorrectly and supporting safer environmental outcomes.

SCRAP METAL RECYCLING
All scrap metals are donated to Northstar’s steel collection and recycling service, where they are responsibly repurposed and reused rather than sent to landfill.
